are making, hoping that a committee of the treasury department within the obama administration will actually turn down the sale, pending a decision from a bankruptcy judge. this chinese company was working very hard to come to the rescue of this ailing company all along, and ended up buying it just a few days ago for $7 million more than the government put into it. and because this company is so active in the you say, there is a concern, because a-123 systems, battery technology has been used by the defense defendant and others, it's so widespread critics say it's hard to buy into this company and not be privy to that technology. that makes us, of course, you know, exposes us to the possibility of cyber attack. the chinese can say that the government operations of this battery company will be taken over by another american company company, and they promise not to be a threat to national security. we can regulate companies like that, but can't infiltrate them. there's nothing we can be guaranteed with regard to the chinese having access to this technology. >> if people look closer at who runs

over the fiscal policy winds down, the obama administration will begin an all-out drive for comprehensive immigration reform, including seeking a path to citizenship for 11 million illegal immigrants. we will see then where the repub lip cans are. what do you hope to see in the immigration reform if it is real and meaningful to bring us toward a better place in the country, mr. mayor? >> my hope is that comprehensive immigration reform will be just that. it's going to be comprehensive. it's going to include additional mushes that we secure our borders. it's going to include ways to work with employers so that we ensure that fewer employers hire folks who are here undocumented. and, third u it's going to include a pathway to citizenship, to full citizenship, for the 11 or 12 million folks who are here who are undocumented, illegal, whatever term folks want to use. who i believe should be addre addressed and we've heard in the last couple of weeks, some heartburn among republicans who are now just starting to consider the idea of comprehensive immigration reform as to whet

, and the defense of marriage act which the obama administration now refuses to defend in court. and so as soon as president clinton was out of office, the tax code he had rewritten to be more progressive was immediately rewritten by this guy to be less progressive. when george w. bush rewrote the clinton tack rates tax rates to be friendlier to the rich, some democrat in the house and in the senate voted for the new tax rates. there was no lasting clintonian to hold against the bush tax cuts. some democrats voted for the bush tax rates. so nothing of reaganism, whatever that was, lived after the reagan presidency and nothing of clintonism lived after the clinton's presidency. what, then, of gingrichism, newt gingrich was in congress during all three of the presidencies we've considered here. reagan, the first bush, and clinton. during the republican years when republicans started drifting towards agreements to raise taxes, newt gingrich attacked those republicans. he wasn't willing to take on president reagan head on but in 1984 he actually called senator bob dole, quote, the tax collector for

think the obama administration, from the beginning, joe, has been making what i call a cosmic bet that islamists, people in parties like the muslim brotherhood, if they experience governing, if they get elected and are responsible for the growth of the economy, the welfare of the people, will bend and will become more responsible parties and then we'll have a peculiros where egypt looks more like turkey. >> but david, that's obviously not the case. what's the difference between supporting a dictator in egypt named morsi versus supporting a dictator in egypt named mubarak? >> well, you got it. there isn't much difference. i would say that morsi has been elected by the egyptian people in what most observers think were democratic elections, and more to the point, morsi is a product of a revolution that caught up all egyptians. this has been a couple years of real change there. so morsi carries the hopes of those people. it's just that he's -- you know, it's gone to his head. he's on a power trip, i think, and it's time for the tous just s u.s. to just say that flat out. >> jon meacha

that washington doesn't have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem. and under this administration, under president obama, we have seen record deficits and a record debt accumulate, and yet he keeps demanding that we have seen record deficits and a record debt accumulate, and yet he keeps demanding that we raise taxes to pay for more spending. this will only hurt our economy. ernst and young has done an analysis of the president's proposal and said it will cost several hundreds thousands of jobs. there is a better way and the speaker has laid it out. it is an approach that calls for tax reform by reforming the tax code and passing responsible spending cuts in order to get our fiscal house in order. that's what america wants. this is our opportunity to do the big things. this is our moment to provide that leadership that america desperately wants and we stand here ready to take the action necessary. >> the american people are hurting right now and now is the moment where we need to step up to the plate and solve the problem. cann't know how any of us look our kids and grandkids in the eye
